About nationals101

Frank and Susan bring you an introductory level podcast to baseball and the Washington Nationals. DC is new to baseball, and baseball is new to DC. Whether you're a life long resident who just never got into it, or a transplant that came from a football and hockey town, we want to answer the questions baseball novices were a little too afraid to ask, and help everyone appreciate the National Passtime just a little bit more.

    • I was wondering who the first to comment on the alignment would be. Also, Rendon/Espinosa is playing very close to second. Harper clearly is yelling at someone across the field given the way his hat/head is turned.

      • Had to be a right handed slap-hitter to start an inning. Slight IF shift towards 1B, outfield shifted the other way, third base guarding the line for a bunt-for-hit. Everything looks to me like a guy they don’t expect to get the ball out of the infield.

The only complication is Livo on the mound. That alignment tells me they’re going to pitch hard and away, and I have never seen Livo throw hard.

      • Couldn’t be lombo. Location of glove & ball suggests RHP on mound, so Lombo would have turned around to bat from the left side, which should have shifted the shortstop over a bit.
